Dance Company DanceAction, directed by choreographer Carmen Caceres, is looking for one Male dancer (mover, performer, or actor with movement experience is welcome), to immediately join the company to perform in their new piece Game Night in October 16 & 17, 2015 at a venue in Queens, NY.

Rehearsals are taking place twice a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays, between 6 and 9 pm. Interested applicants need to be available to join rehearsals as soon as possible after the Audition date. 

Audition will take place on Thursday September 10th from 7 to 9pm, and Audition Alternate date & Call Back will be on Monday September 14 from 7 to 9pm. Location will be confirmed upon registration.

This new work will explore the behavior of human beings in relationship with the elements of chance and choice.

Performers may have a background in different movement disciplines (ballet, modern, contemporary dance, contact improvisation, physical theater, musical theater, etc.), but experience in improvisation and partnering is required. Because of the nature of this project, dancers are asked to participate actively in the creative process, so I am looking for people who are creative and open minded to explore various ways of moving and performing. 

The piece will include moments of choice and indeterminacy, which will allow the performers to be fully present in the action. Therefore, the capacity and experience to work as a team is vital for this project.

Paid Performances: Dancer/Performer will receive a stipend at the end of the shows.
