Kun-Yang Lin/ Dancers seeks male and female dancers for immediate employment Bill Hebert

Audition Notice:

Kun-Yang Lin/ Dancers (KYLD) seeks male and female dancers with a strong technical base and creative appetite for employment commencing immediately.

KYLD is a Philadelphia-based contemporary dance company, under the leadership of Artistic Director, Kun-Yang Lin.  In addition to its Philadelphia season/s, the company tours internationally and nationally.  The company works 32-38 weeks per year, 15-20 hours per week (including company class).  Dancers are paid at a competitive hourly rehearsal rate, in addition to performance fees.  Other benefits include free access to studio space when available, company classes, a platform to share choreographic work at the Inhale Performance Series, and opportunities for additional teaching and outreach pay.   KYLD is a small company of diverse, compelling dance artists, capable of both complementing each other as a cohesive unit, and emerging as strong solo artists.  Kun-Yang’s work demands a heightened physical capacity and a mature artistic expression.

Auditions will take place the week of 7/13-7/18.  Artistic Director, Kun-Yang Lin, will see interested dancers during his workshop which will take place daily, from 1:30-3:30pm, Monday through Friday of that week at CHI Movement Arts Center, Home of KYLD, located at 1316 S 9th Street, Philadelphia, PA. These “audition-shops” are open to the public, and while dancers interested in working with the company are encouraged to attend all week for maximum exposure, dancers may also choose to drop in for just one day, as scheduling allows.  Call-backs will take place during company rehearsals that week, 4:30-6pm daily, and/or Saturday 12:30-5pm, according to the wishes of the Artistic Director, and the availability of the dancer in question.

Auditioning dancers must pre-register in advance by sending an email, with “KYLD Audition” in the subject line, and a CV, dance photo, headshot, and optional video link attached to:
