ASHA Dance Company is an emerging New York Contemporary based dance company.

We are seeking both male and female dancers for our upcoming production Nature Untouched scheduled for June 2, 2016 at the Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts at LIU Brooklyn. Rehearsals begin from October 12 - June 4. We rehearse twice a week Sundays 4:00 - 6:30  p.m. and Wednesdays 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. in order to be in ASHA Dance Company one MUST be available for both rehearsals. Rehearsals are NOT paid however, there is a compensation of $100 given at the end of the production. In addition to the main show in June there are extra performance opportunities before the show that selected ASHA Dancers take part in, in which he/she receives a $50 stipend.

REQUIREMENTS:

Dancers must have a strong background in Modern, Contemporary and/or Ballet. Dancers must be open to learning new dance styles and MUST NOT be intimidated by the use of improvisation.

BENEFITS OF BEING PART OF ASHA DANCE COMPANY:

Exposure - All dancers participate in a professional photo shoot taken by our most trusted and talented photographer Ernesto Mancebo. Photos are used as advertisement for the company via Website, FaceBook, Flyers and other promotional avenues.

Press- Reviews of Company shows. A.D.C.'S last show two shows were reviewed by A.R.T.S.Y. Magazine.

Letters of Recommendation - Many of ASHA'S previous and current company memberswho were either on student visa, applying for a job or simply needed a letter of recommendation for an apartment they were looking to obtain  were gladly given a letter of recommendation from the Artistic Director upon request and 9 times out of 10 receive the position or status they were seeking.

Networking: ASHA Dance Company members often gain friendships and networking opportunities with one another within the few months of knowing one another through rehearsals and performances.
