CALL FOR ARTISTS: looking for emerging Choreographers/Companies for SLD Winter Season Performance Opportunity

CALL FOR ARTISTS: looking for emerging Choreographers/Companies for SLD Winter Season Performance Opportunity

Sans Limites Dance is now accepting applications from Emerging Choreographers/Companies interested in performing in our upcoming season. Sans Limites Dance Winter Season 2015 runs from December 2nd-December 6th at The Connelly Theatre. The Connelley is a 99-seat, beautiful proscenium arch theatre located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.http://www.connellytheater.org

Inspired by the Duncan quote “You were once wild here, don’t let them tame you”, SLD looks for innovative works that aim to push past the definitions that currently define dance. Although preferred, works are not limited to the ballet/modern/contemporary genre. We encourage all movement styles to apply, so long as the work is breaking down barriers & redefining the style through unique choreographic visions; ranging from highly technical/athletic dance to gesture/performance-art based movement.

Sans Limites Dance's ability to provide affordable performance opportunities to emerging artists is due in part to Technical Director/Co-Producer, Michael Lounsbery, who donates his services and expertise to Sans Limites Dance Seasons. Michael Lounsbery is a professional light designer that has designed for artists like Dance Theatre of Harlem, Andre Kisselev (Bolshoi Theater), Kazuko Hirabayashi, Earl Mosley,  Ara Fitzgerald, Peter Pucci, Rosalind Newman, Keith Sanders, Neta Pulvermacher, Bill Hastings, Rebecca Sten, Lance Westergard, Claire Porter, Nick Ross, Valerie Pullman, Wallie Wolfgruber, Valerie Pullman and Keely Garfield.
