JOB DESCRIPTION: Dancewave seeks a Musical Theater Teaching Artist for grade school students. The right candidate will have strong dance and theatre teaching experience; prior work in a public school setting, be highly organized and have strong class management skills. Vocal and musical teaching skills a plus!  The Teaching Artist will be expected to create a curriculum and lesson plans that follow the NYC Dance Blueprint as well as the NYS and Common Core Standards. This is an exciting and rewarding position for a dancer who wants to engage with local and underserved public school populations!  All Dancewave Teaching Artists  are expected to culminate their teaching experience in a challenging and exciting  school performance. Our public school residencies take place in all 5 NYC boroughs.

 

ABOUT DWAVE IN MOTION: Dancewave brings high quality arts education residencies based on NYC, NYS and Common Core standards. We offer New York City school partners the opportunity to craft an arts in education program customized to meet the specific needs of their school curriculum and students abilities through this program.

Our in-school residencies encompass a variety of dance genres and are offered both within school hours and/or during after school programs. Our program is available year-round and can last anywhere from a two-day workshop/master class to a year-long residency.

SALARY: Based on experience and residency contract with the school
