Cameron McKinney / Kizuna Dance is looking for professional dancers for its NYC season in April/May, future shows in Boston, and potential performances abroad. Dancers will be involved in the creation of a new 35-minute work, learning of company repertory, and in upcoming residencies.

 

Dancers with funk and personality, a background in house dance or streetdance styles are highly encouraged to apply. Dancers must be comfortable with floorwork and improvisation.

 

Dancers MUST be available to rehearse Sunday mornings (most often 11-2) starting mid-November. A second weekly rehearsal will be added based on dancer availability.


 

WHEN: Auditions will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, between 11 am and 5pm.

 

Submit your dance resume, headshot/dance photo, and video reel to kizunadanceaudition@gmail.com by Thursday Oct 15. Selected applicants will be given the audition location and a time slot.

 

Kizuna c?? Dance has been presented by Let’s Dance International Frontiers (UK), The Moving Beauty Series, Bailout Theater, and Triskelion Arts, among others. In 2015, Kizuna Dance will show work at Dixon Place, The Ailey Theater, and  Purchase College.

 

Artistic Director Cameron McKinney has been commissioned twice by Let’s Dance International Festival in Leicester, UK, by the Steffi Nossen School of Dance, The Moving Beauty Series, and SpectorDance Studio.

 

He created Loft Technique, a unique blend of house dance, street dance styles and contemporary floorwork, and  has taught in four states, as well as internationally in Japan and the UK. He was on faculty at the 2015 Southern Vermont Dance Festival, and was recently chosen as a promising choreographer for Doug Varone's DEVICES Intensive.
