Apply for Work Up at Gibney Dance on December 1!

Apply for Work Up at Gibney Dance on December 1! Alex Escalante

Work Up supports the development of emerging dance and performance artists whose work demonstrates risk, relevance, and rigor.

Emphasizing the articulation of a choreographer’s ideas in both movement and language, Work Up artists will be selected through a two-tiered application process including a written submission and a live audition. Work Up artists also receive a performance fee and have the opportunity to meet for classes and one-on-one consultations with Gibney Dance staff members on grant writing, marketing, and other communication strategies.

Applications open at 9:00 am on Tuesday, December 1. Only the first 100 applicants will be considered, so start preparing your application now!

To hone your writing skills for the Work Up application process, attend one of two free writing workshops with Lauren $lone (Artist and Program Manager of the MAP Fund, and former Work Up Artist) on November 17 & 18. Learn more and sign up for a workshop here — bit.ly/1lb12Iq
