Dancer needed (paid) for Hatch Presenting Series Performance

Nazmo Dance Collective is looking for a dancer to perform in a new work. Must have day time and/or morning availability on weekdays for rehearsals. Must be available for performance on Saturday, December 5th at 8pm. Looking for a dancer with strong contemporary technique. Should be comfortable speaking on stage as well.

About Nazmo Dance Collective: Nazmo Dance Collective promotes innovative dance performance by pushing the boundaries of conventional movement. The Collective uses movement to cultivate conversation regarding personal, social, and political relationships and perspectives. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, Nazmo Dance Collective combines movement with film, visual art, theatrical tropes and music to engage the community with dance that inspires relevant discourse and questioning.

About Danielle Kipnis (founder/artistic director): Danielle is a New York native and founder of Nazmo Dance Collective. She received her BS in Dance and English from Northwestern University where she worked with prominent Chicago artists such as Billy Seigenfeld and The Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, Molly Shanahan/Mad Shak, Annie Bessera and Striding Lion, and Jeff Hancock. She has performed at Jacob’s Pillow and worked with Chet Walker, Bill Hastings and Dana Moore.  Nazmo Dance Collective has performed work with the New World Symphony, for Art Basel Miami, the Rift Blackbox Theater, Little Haiti Cultural Center, and was commissioned by Heroes Unite’s Mobile Micro Theater, a traveling black box school bus. Danielle’s dance films have been presented at several film festivals including, Cucalorus, ScreenDance Miami, and this January at Dance on Camera in Lincoln Center. In 2009 she founded her own jazz and musical theatre company, Steam Heat Dance Company which continues to perform at Northwestern in Chicago.
