Dance - Volunteering Opportunity

We are an alternative to incarceration program who believe in second chances and serve the youth between the ages of 14 – 21 in Manhattan’s Lower East Side and East Harlem communities. We work with inner city youth teenagers who may have pending legal matters or who do not have any pending legal matters, but are steered along the wrong path. Our sole purpose is to divert and supervise at risk youth from a life of crime and incarceration by instilling in them the understanding and acceptance of their moral responsibilities for the consequences of their actions.

The Andrew Glover Youth Program is currently looking for volunteers that can conduct workshops one day out of the week (Mondays – Fridays) between the hours of 5pm – 6pm for various weeks consisting of dancing lessons that can take place throughout an extended period of time. We are flexible with our volunteers schedules and will discuss the exact dates, days and time of when this workshop will begin.

We would like the dancing lessons to preferably focus on Salsa, Merengue, Hip-Hop. Any volunteers or organizations interested in this opportunity regarding the possibility of conducting dancing lessons for our youth in our lower east side community center free of cost, if you have any questions or would like more information please feel free to contact me at jjara@agyp.org
