OPEN CALL FOR

DANCERS/ PERFORMERS/ BODIES

 

We are currently accepting submissions from artists of all ages, training, and background for a massive multidisciplinary project late May. Seeking those comfortable with movement (no extensive dance training necessary) as well as those comfortable with vocalization.  Especially interested in casting “non-traditional” body-types as well as 50 years + in age.  

 

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Authority Figure is a social psychology experiment that uses choreography, sound and installation to elicit emotional response from the audience. We have brought together seven choreographers, four installation artists, a full production team and are building a cast of 100+ performers/dancers to develop an atmosphere whose motive is to consider our relationships to authority, obedience and each-other.

COMMITMENT:

Weekly rehearsals in Bushwick starting mid-March

Schedule increasing to 2-3x a week in May (depending on role)

 

LOOKING TO CAST: 100+

Dancers (simple & complex choreography)

Actors (theatrical vignettes)

Security figures (installed bodies)

Assistant to stage manager

Interns for pre-production
