The cost of a Pilates Method Alliance, (PMA) approved teacher training program certification at a top Pilates studio is very expensive. Gramercy Pilates NYC is now offering Pilates certification programs for individuals interested in becoming Pilates teachers through work/study opportunities.

How Our Work Study Program works:

Option I: Work off the entire cost of the Program:

Program Cost for Mat and Equipment: $5,800.

Number of hours required to work off program cost:is 580 ($10 credit for each hour worked)

Option II: Work off half of the Program

Program Cost for Mat and Equipment: $5,800

Number of hours required to work:  290

Payment for balance of program:  $2,900, (may be made in two installments of $1,450)

(Note: Days and times of your work schedule are flexible, but you must work at least 10 hours per week).

About the Gramercy Pilates NYC Teacher Training Certification Program:

Our innovative and in-depth comprehensive Teacher Training Program for Mat and Equipment is designed for prospective Pilates teachers and  is approved by the Pilates Method Alliance, (PMA), the non-profit, professional and international certifying agency for Pilates teachers.  Our course curriculum transcends just learning how to teach exercises, you’ll also learn how and why exercises really work for a variety of clients including those with medical restrictions.

Overview of Program Certification Requirements:

Total lecture hours 120 hours covering Anatomy, Biomechanics, Corrective Movement Principles, Mat and All Equipment (Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barell and other props), Choreography, Special Populations, Facilitating Client Movement and the Art of Teaching and Beyond.

Total studio practice hours of 360 covering Self Practice, Supervised and Unsupervised Teaching, Session and Lecture Observation, and Apprentice teaching.

Work Study Position Job Requirements: 

Reliable with good computer skills. Experience with MindBody is helpful. Job duties includes welcoming clients into the studio, booking private sessions and classes, answering phones and emails, light cleaning and general work around the studio. Please include cover letter, resume and  photo for consideration.

Note: If you wish to take the program and pay for it you receive a 10% discount ($580),if you buy both the Mat and Equipment Programs at the same time. So instead of paying $5,800, your cost would be $5,220.
