Voices Transposed: The Refugee Crisis (CALL FOR ARTISTS)

Voices Transposed: The Refugee Crisis (CALL FOR ARTISTS)

CALL FOR ARTISTS:  "Voices Transposed:  The Refugee Crisis" is a benefit performance in NYC planned for June 10th and 11th. In cooperation with USA for UNHCR - The UN Refugee Agency and Refugee Immigrant Fund, our mission is to provide an accessible venue of discourse on the refugee experience through visual and performing arts by bringing together narratives of refugees and artists. Our goal is to raise awareness of the refugee humanitarian crisis in Syria and elsewhere, and raise charitable funds through our performances for organizations that will have a positive impact on the lives of refugees.

If you are an artist or company interested in participating in our event, please apply online through our website:  www.VoicesTransposed.org, where you can read more about our project and refugee experiences. Reworked pieces will be accepted so long as they speak to the themes and narratives of this project.

Deadline to apply:  March 15th, 2016. Selected artists will be notified by April 1st.

Dates:  June 10th, 11th (Tech rehearsal on June 9th)

Location:  Manhattan Movement & Arts Center
