Call for Queens' Choreographers for Dance Astoria

Dance Astoria Co-Producers, Nicole Ohr and Stephanie Deere, are seeking Queens – Based Choreographers for the 3rd annual Dance Astoria festival held outdoors at the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden in Astoria, NY. This year, the festival will take place from 3-6pm on Sunday May 22nd.

Queens’ residents are encouraged to submit choreography from all styles of dance including contemporary, classical, and cultural dance forms. Stage is raised painted wood, and in case of rain there is an indoor performance space. Works must be less than 5 minutes, and please keep in mind, Dance Astoria is a family friendly event open to the public. There is no fee to submit and no production fee if accepted. Each company will receive a 30 minute technical rehearsal in the space between 10am and 2pm the week before the festival.

Choreographers may apply with previously performed work, or submit a proposal for a new piece. If submitting a previously performed work, please submit a YouTube link of this piece. For a proposal of new work, submit a YouTube link of previously created work.

Deadline to apply is April 1st, 2016. Choreographers will be notified of acceptance no later than May 1st, 2016.
