Moving Current / NewGrounds Choreographic Residency at the Florida Dance Festival

The Moving Current/NewGrounds Choreographic Residency at the Florida Dance Festival is dedicated to fostering the creation of new work. The Choreographic Residency provides an open, honest environment to create without distractions or outside obligations. Throughout the 9-day residency two choreographers are provided with housing, daily studio time, artistic mentoring, formal and informal performances and classes at the Florida Dance Festival. The Residency Artists have an opportunity to share ideas with an audience in the intimate working space of the studio through a Show & Tell, a work-in-progress showings and an opportunity to present their work in the Festival Finale program on June 25 2016.  Two Choreographers will be selected by a panel of experts based on the artistic excellence of the work samples submitted. The residency is open to established and emerging choreographers.
