Production Stage Manager and Sound Op starting July 25

Production Stage Manager and Sound Op starting July 25 Arkady Sandoval

The Suite Summer Festival is an annual dance festival that has the mission to raise the profile of dance in Queens.  This year’s festival is a free, site specific weekend of dance at Socrates Sculpture Park and presents 14 dance companies over two programs.  We are looking for performing arts professionals who have experience in production and great organization skills.  We love to hire dancers who have production experience!  We are looking for up to 2 people.

Duties:

- Welcome the dance companies at the Tech rehearsal and work with the artists so that they understand the run of the show.

- Set up/breakdown of computer equipment/costumes/chairs (This is light work. The park staff will handle heavy sound equipment set up/breakdown.)

- Assist the artistic director and rehearsal director in ensuring the artists are as comfortable as possible during the tech rehearsals and performances.

- Operate sound during tech and performances using windows media player on a computer using a simple sound board.  Mostly start and stop with the possibility of some fading on the sound board (just the master control--no mixing.) The only tech is sound—there are no lights.

- Other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate:

A responsible, musically inclined, detail oriented performing arts professional who is community minded and reflects the values and mission of In-Sight Dance Company.

Approximately 15 hours of work for $300.

Pay and number of hours will be set after discussions with the stage manager.
