Chris Ferris & Dancers, Audition Dec. 10

When Gravity Fails by Chris Ferris & Dancers Andy Ribner Photography

AUDITION FOR DANCERS-This auditon is full and taking no more participants.

Chris Ferris & Dancers is starting a new dance in January 2017 to be performed at New York City Center Studios on Fri. March 31 and Sat. April 1.  The piece will be a part of the suite of works Rampaging Light.  The piece will be 10 to 15 min. long.  Rehearsals are 2 hours long 1 to 2 times a week on Weds. 7 to 9PM or Saturdays.  Sundays are also an option.  Dancers need strong modern dance technical training, must be skilled at remembering detailed phrases, partnering, and complicated patterns.  My dances are created without music and then music is composed for the dance.  Listening to the dance is very important.  Regrettably I am not in a position to pay for rehearsals but I do offer a performance payment.

Audition date: Sat. Dec. 10 from 4:30 to 6:30

Location:  Edens Expressway, 537 Broadway,4th floor, New York NY

We are no longer accepting registrations to attend this auditon. It is full.

Rampaging Light, by Chris Ferris & Dancers, is dance existing in parallel worlds; framed time shattered between reality and dreams; and the magical mishaps that you thought didn’t happen but did.  You are held and released by the silent step, soundless wind, screaming train, and buzzing wall of voices.  This is performance that will alter your perception of a single room and the flipping numbers on your clock.  Sometimes everything does not have to make sense.
