Community Education Programs Manager

 

Reporting to the Director of Education, the Community Education Programs Manager will manage and implement community and education programs and activities which serve the greater New York City area working with NYC Department of Education public and charter schools, community centers that serve NYC Housing Authority, seniors, and special needs populations among others. As part of a four-person Education department, the Community Education Programs Manager plays an integral role in supporting all educational programming at the Dance Center and throughout the community. This is a full-time 40 hour per week position. 

The Mark Morris Dance Center, now celebrating its 15th anniversary, is home to the Mark Morris Dance Group, The School, a Studio Rental program and a Wellness Center.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Implement, manage, and sustain 28 current community education partnerships serving upwards of 2,000 students in the greater New York City area including NYC Department of Education public and charter schools, community centers, and other organizations
Cultivate new partnerships and increase the visibility of community education programs
Manage, implement, and coordinate all logistical aspects of community partnerships including, program schedules, community events, planning meetings, field trips, and performances
Maintain correspondence with partners, teaching artists, musicians, administrators, and students offering support and engagement opportunities while maintaining efficient operations
Coordinate proper placement of teaching artists, musicians, and assistants for community education programs in collaboration with Director of Education
Coordinate and assist with faculty meetings and professional development
Implement on-going program evaluation and assessment and provide thorough analysis to Director of Education and other departments as needed
Manage payroll for community education programs and work closely with the finance department to track invoices and contracts
Represent MMDG at meetings and events
Assist marketing department in coordination of photo and video documentation of programs as well as additional marketing assets for programs and events
Maintain knowledge base and understanding of all School systems including but not limited to; Counterpoint software, Outbound software, databases, schedules, and program inquiries.
Serve as a Fire Guard for the Dance Center
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Arts in Dance or Dance Education preferred
Minimum three years’ administrative experience
Knowledge of MS Office required, especially Excel
Knowledge of Counterpoint point of sale software and Outbound software a plus
Extremely reliable and dedicated
Willingness to complete Fire Guard Certification test

Compensation

$35,000-$40,000 per annum
