Periapsis Music and Dance: Dancer Auditions

We are hiring two female dancers for our company!

Periapsis Music and Dance seeks two dynamic, creative, experienced female performers to join its core ensemble. We develop work collaboratively between choreographer, composer, dancers, and musicians, always including live music. Our repertoire is built with our resident artists and commissioned guests.

Auditions will be held on Thursday, December 1, at 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00 pm at GK ArtsCenter (29 Jay St, Brooklyn).
Callbacks will be held on Friday, December 2, at 7:00 pm at GK ArtsCenter.

Periapsis Music and Dance is a freelance company.  We offer a competitive salary (hourly) for rehearsals and performances. Please visit our website to learn more about us and see our work.

Qualifications:
– At least three years professional dance experience
– Strong, versatile modern technique grounded in classical training
– Superior partnering skills, ability to learn quickly, strong improvisor
– A team player eager to experiment and be challenged
– Professional attitude, organized, punctual, with excellent communication

Rehearsals will take place regularly from January to June, with performances April 1-2 and June 3-4. Some additional availability will be necessary.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Email quincie@periapsismusicanddance.org to request a time for December 1 (7:00, 8:00, or 9:00), and please include headshot and resume as attachments (JPEG and PDF only). Audition will include a brief ballet component before modern components.
