 AUDITION NOTICE

 

“IN THE MOOD, a 1940s musical revue”

SINGERS, DANCERS – U.S. Winter/Spring 2017 and future tours

 

 Bud Forrest Entertainment casting NON-UNION (Non-AEA/Non-SAGAFTRA/Non-AGMA/Non-AGVA) Singers and Dancers for 1940s musical revue now in our 23rd year.

Dates:  Winter/Spring Tour - January 5, 2017 thru April 29, 2017 as well as future tours. 

Performances in theaters, performing arts centers and concert halls across the USA with the String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra as well as performances with a symphony orchestra

Performing Fee commencing at $700/week. All travel, hotels, and most meals included.

      10am sharp: Male – Strong Dancers Who Sing Well

      1:30pm sharp:  Female Dancers Who Sing Well

JIMMY: (Male; Plays late 20’s – early 30’s) Ideally, 5’8” – 6’2” Swing Dancer; Capable of Partnering;

        Baritone or Tenor. Must be able to Read Music, Sing Solos and Harmonies.

KITTY: (Female; Plays late 20’s – early 30’s) Ideally, 5’1” – 5’5” (Dress size 2, 4 or 6) Swing Dancer; 

        Capable of Partnering; Alto or Mezzo with a Low Sultry Sound.  Must be able to Read Music, Sing  

        Solos and Harmonies.   

 

Please be warmed up and ready to dance at the start time. (Female dancers should bring both flats and heels to dance.) Some may be asked to stay and sing. Please prepare a ballad or up-tempo song (no more than 32 bars) in the style of the American Song Book (Porter/Gershwin /Kern/Berlin/Rodgers, etc).  Please have a second song, in case asked.  Bring sheet music. Accompanist provided. Some may be asked to return for a partnering call later in the day or within the next two days. Please bring 2 sets of a current picture and resume stapled together.

 All Must be Strong Singers/ Able to Read Music, Sing Solos and Harmonies; & Move Well.

 

TOMMY: (Male; Plays late 20’s – early 30’s) Ideally, 5’8” – 6’2” All American Look; May be Any Race; 

       Baritone or Tenor.

HARRY: (Male; Plays late 20’s – early 30’s) Ideally, 5’8” – 6’2” May be Any Race; Baritone or Tenor. 

       Would be Great if performer could swing dance & partner, but not required.

BETTY: (Female; Plays late 20’s – early 30’s) HEIGHT 5’7” to 5’9 1/2”

       Alto or Mezzo with a Low Sultry Sound of the big band era

HELEN: (Female; Plays late 20’s – early 30’s) HEIGHT - 5’7” to 5’9 1/2”  

       Alto or Mezzo with a Low, Sultry Sound of the big band era.

THE HEIGHT RANGES FOR “BETTY” AND “HELEN” ARE A STRICT REQUIREMENT FOR THIS SHOW AND MUST BE YOUR ACCURATE HEIGHT WITHOUT HEELS.  PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THIS CALL IF YOUR EXACT HEIGHT IS NOT WITHIN THIS EXACT RANGE.   

DRESS SIZE FOR BOTH PARTS MUST BE 4, 6, 8, or 10.
