Looking for Dancers for Roza Dance Company’s new piece

From our latest performance: Artist In Flight Performance Showcase G Addison for the Artist In Flight Performance Showcase 2016

Choreographer Shani Aduculesi, founder and artistic director of Roza Dance Company is looking for dancers for a new piece that will be performed in few shows around NYC in the coming months.

In the past year we performed in Ladies Got Talent 2015 Showcase NYC, The Israel Folk Dance Festival NYC, The Parparim Ensemble Kaleidoscope program in Sunbury PA ,and Artist In Flight Showcase NYC.

Our mission: Roza Dance Company consists of choreographer Shani Karni Aduculesi and dancers, all of whom come from different countries around the world, as well as different dance training backgrounds.  This diverse group of individuals has fashioned a unique flavor to the company’s creations. The dancers’ uncommon personal and professional origins consistently inspire the work and create the company’s special movement vocabulary, and style. Many of the Company’s works stem from contact improvisation work, and have a variety of soft and nuanced movements that reveal the different aspects of humanity, as well as movements that are dynamic and push the physicality of the human body. The approach is intriguing and it looks at dance as an ongoing conversation, in which the movements are the words and the dancers are the characters communicating with one another and the audience. The results are works of art that are never ending conversations of movement and about movement

The dancers we are looking for have a strong technique, contemporary dance background, work well with improvisation and are good team players.

Since the first performance opportunity is in February, we are looking for someone who will be able to attend and commit to the rehearsals schedule.

Rehearsals will be held in Riverdale Bronx as well as Manhattan and will be in the evenings and weekends.

Though this is not a paying job, it is a wonderful performance opportunity  that may lead to many more projects.
