92Y Seeks Strong Dancers- 2/6 9am

This production will be the culmination for an original dance theatre piece developed through 92nd St. Y’s Musical Theatre Development Lab that began in August. This is a full-length dance piece where we worked extensively to infuse narrative, text, character, and plot into the piece in non-traditional ways and we are attempting to combine the worlds of dance and theatre in ways the genre of musical theatre has left relatively unexplored. We are seeking dancers strong physical theatre backgrounds for the project and are open to artists with a variety of strengths along the dance/acting spectrum. Our main objective is to cast artists with varying brilliances who are interested in original work venturing into new explorations of form. This piece is a dystopian tale of a society that has evolved from a past history of anti-intellectualism, post-truth, and exclusion into a world that no longer knows the meaning of dreams, empathy, and individuality.

We will be auditioning this Monday Feb 6, 9am at 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center. We will have a dancer/actor call at 9am for those who identify as very strong dancers. If you are interested in auditioning this Monday please email musicaltheatredevelopmentlab@gmail.com to confirm your attendance.
