Dance Talks Series, Edition 2017 at EMIA

Welcome! Earl Mosley's Institute of the Arts (EMIA) thanks you for your interest in applying to be part of our Dance Talks Series, Edition 2017 at EMIA. The mission of Earl Mosley's Institute of the Arts, a subsidiary of the not-for-profit Diversity of Dance, Inc., is to provide an environment where student artists from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds can achieve the highest levels of excellence through positive collaborations with teachers and peers. 

Dance Talks at EMIA gives a platform for emerging artists to engage with EMIA students, through workshops, performances, and Q&A's, to create those mutual positive collaborations, connections, and experiences. EMIA will be compensating each company with a flat rate of $250 which supports your meal, travel, and artistic services. Below is a mock schedule that each company/artist would receive:

Masterclass/Workshop (4:15pm-5:20pm)
Dinner (5:30pm-6:20pm) *Provided by EMIA*
Performance and/or Q&A (6:30pm-7:45pm)

This program will take place on Wednesdays throughout July 2017 and is located at The Marvelwood School in Kent, Connecticut. The stage (approximately 20" x 35") has a black marley floor, backstage space (stage-right), no crossover, and minimal lighting capabilities. You may request one technical rehearsal which would happen between 5:30-6:20pm. Sight-specific work is allowed, with applicable weather, upon prior request and discussion with EMIA. An audition with our students is allowed as well, upon prior request and discussion with EMIA. If you have any questions, please contact emiadance@gmail.com.
