SYREN Modern Dance is currently seeking a highly skilled individual to serve as Development Intern. A recent graduate or grad student would be a good fit. Position would involve working 10-15 hours per week for 6 months. The Intern will aid in all aspects of the development process. Candidate will work alongside the Directors and Board to develop new strategies for the organization. Candidate will help seek and sustain funding for SYREN Modern Dance. Responsibilities include identifying appropriate grantors, corporations, and individuals to develop financial support as well as submit proposals. Candidate should have confident phone demeanor and be willing to meet with potential funders. A genuine interest in the Arts is crucial, but candidate need not have background in dance. Candidate should reside with the boroughs of NYC. Start date flexibile, but ideally between April 1 and June 1. While the position is unpaid, the Intern will have inside access to all aspects of the inner-workings of a non-profit. He/she will work directly with Directors and gain insight, experience, and resume references.
