Brooklyn Opera Works seeks Apprentice Dancers for Summer Opera Workshop & Performances

 
Brooklyn Opera Works is offering a new Dance Apprentice program with its production of Echo et Narcisse July 10 - August 19

Brooklyn Music School’s annual Summer Vocal Arts program is currently looking for 8 Apprentice Dancers for its production of Gluck’s Baroque masterpiece Echo et Narcisse.

Details:

•  Tuition fee of $425 for complete program, FULL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

•  Soloist in fully produced opera’s featured dance ensemble

•  Company class offered before each rehearsal by Stage Director/Choreographer

•  Performance video and photographs provided

•  Scholarship Audition will be invitation only

•  Audition by video possible on an as needed basis

•  Program includes Alexander technique and drama classes

•  Option to participate in “A Brooklyn Cabaret” as singing artist for a discounted additional fee of $250

Requirements:

•  Must be an aspiring or professional contemporary dancer with strong technique

•  Female or male accepted

•  Must be available for most weekday afternoon/evening rehearsals from July 10 - August 11

•  Must be available for tech and performance August 12 – 19

•  BFA or BA in Dance welcomed (may be a current undergrad)

•  Letter of recommendation or references appreciated

•  Performance reel or video link welcomed

•  Submit headshot and resume by June 15th
