We are interested in working with:

All auditions will be held at Spaceworks LIC.

Open Auditions

- Sunday, May 14, 4pm-6pm
- Monday, May 15. 8pm-10pm

(NOTE: The Thursday, June 1. 7pm-9pm audition is now full! No additional requests can be accomodated for this session.)

What you need to know: 

- Limited space. Please reserve a space by e-mailing: leeanne@insightdance.org. Please use subject line: Name. Audition Request (Date of requested audition). Example: Leeanne G-Bowley. Audition Request (May 14).
- In your e-mail please include a resume and photo. You DO NOT need bring a photo and resume with you.
- Auditions will begin with a class--center barre and center floor work--followed by rep.
- You will be asked to fill out an application form that includes your experience with community engagement,
educational programming, and your interest in building civic engagement.
- We are looking for 5 to 7 dancers.
- Dress Code: Please wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident that allow us to see your
technique and movement.

Callbacks

- Date and Time: Friday, June 2. 9am to 1pm
- What: We will workshop new rep for the Emperor's New Clothes
- Stipend: $100
- We ask that those who attend callbacks are prepared to commit to this project if an offer is made.

The Gig

- We will create an original 10-15 minute work based on the story of the Emperor's New Clothes.
- We will create community engagement workshops that require dancers to interact and educate
children, families, and seniors.
- Rehearsals: Approximately 30 hours of rehearsals. Rehearsals will begin in June and will be held Monday evenings, Friday Mornings and a few weekend rehearsals scheduled in collaboration with the dancers.
- Performances: There will be at least 2 performances held between July and August with the possibility of additional
performances being booked through the Fall. We are asking for a minimum commitment through August. Additional pick up rehearsals may be scheduled with as performances are added.
- All dancers are hired as independent contractors.
- Compensation: Rehearsal pay: $20 per hour. Performance pay is $100 per performance.
