The Hollows is a live/work/exhibit space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY producing exhibitions and various programming series with a curatorial emphasis on audience engagement and a dedication to novel ways of exhibition making.
The Hollows is excited to announce the launch of The Hollows Eastyard Dance Festival taking place indoors and outdoors in the 5-floor townhouse one block away from the L train on Bedford Ave. The two day festival will feature over 20 performances by emerging and established choreographers.
Seeking original dance works between 10-20 minutes long and dance films from 5-20 minutes long to be presented as part of the festival. All performance spaces are non-traditional and include the Eastyard outdoor space, the Performance Studio, as well as rooms throughout the 5-floor Hollows townhouse. We are also seeking pieces of any duration to be considered for site-specific presentation in other areas of the townhouse including bathrooms, stairwells, front porch and the telephone booth. Performances that integrate projections or live music are encouraged to apply.

If selected, artists will receive:
-One dress rehearsal leading up to the performance (weekday or weekend option)
-One guided tour of The Hollows building
-Additional studio space for $7 per hour in June on a limited basis
-Experimental video documentation of performance or dress rehearsal
-Outdoors evening yoga class the weekend of the festival
