CALL FOR CHOREOGRAPHERS

SMALL PLATES CHOREOGRAPHY FESTIVAL

Hosted by Haven Movement Company
September 29 and 30, 2017
Safe Harbors Lobby of the Ritz
107 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550

Applications are open for Small Plates Choreography Festival, to be presented on September 29 and 30, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. at Safe Harbors Lobby of the Ritz in Newburgh, NY. Any emerging or established choreographer interested in presenting work in an intimate venue in a thriving artistic community in the beautiful Hudson Valley are welcome to apply.

Small Plates was established to create meaningful performance opportunities for dancers and dance makers and to build a zoetic interface between the artists and their audiences. Small Plates Choreography Festival builds community through performance, dialogue, and professional networking.

Ensemble dance works no longer than ten minutes long will be considered, solos no longer than eight minutes. Completed work will be given priority over works-in-progress or proposed work. Priority acceptance is also given to artists that are able to show work on both/either programs.

Applicants are asked to submit a video (studio footage is acceptable) of the work they would like to present, and pay an application fee of $25. Accepted artists pay a production fee of $30 and receive complimentary tickets, and photos and video of their performances.

Safe Harbors Lobby of the Ritz performance space seats approximately 60 people. The dimensions of the performance area are approximately 24' wide x 24' deep with seating on all sides. The performance is low-tech and somewhat informal.

The deadline to apply is August 8 with notification on or before August 22. Accepted artists have one week after you receive our email to confirm their participation and pay the production fee.

To apply, complete the form at www.smallplatesdance.com/apply and pay the application fee.
