ATTENTION: Exciting news about 2019 program with New York Dance Project!

NYDP is now seeking dancers for apprentice positions with our year-round company for the Spring Semester.

NYDP is a year-round professional/pre-professional company in New York City. Our company bridges the gap between being a student in the studio and becoming an artist and professional, by providing dancers with performance opportunities, dancing traditional and neoclassical ballets, and working with amazing choreographers on new contemporary work. Our co-founders and Artistic Directors Davis Robertson and Nicole Duffy Robertson danced with the Joffrey Ballet, the Met Opera, David Parsons Dance, and Twyla Tharp’s Movin’ Out. They have over fifteen years of experience teaching and coaching pre-professionals, helping them to launch their careers.

The NYDP company consists of professional dancers, who are paid for performances, as well as apprentices. Our apprentices pay tuition to be junior members of the company, and get to perform and tour with us. We’re also proud to have special permission to teach and perform the Joffrey/Arpino repertory.  For 2019, we have exciting confirmed tour dates in March, as well as local performances here in NYC.

Our year-round company will began in September. We currently have a few apprentice positions available, and we will continue to accept video auditions on a rolling basis (instructions on how to submit a video audition are available on our website). Additional in-person audition dates will also be announced on our website, www.newyorkdanceproject.org.

Our dancers work in a professional company atmosphere, and we offer help with career planning for the next step. Many dancers consider our program as a "gap" year after high school. Our dancers have also been able to do academic studies online or work while dancing with us. If you think you have what it takes, send your audition today!
