Call for Choreography/Movement Art Submissions
I.
Sans Limites Dance (SLD) hosting a Formal Production Season at the Hudson Guild Theater in Chelsea, NYC from November 15th - 19th (2017).
Inspired by the Duncan quote, “You were once wild here, don’t let them tame you”, SLD showcases innovative, rebellious, and non-conformist movement works by artists that are contributing to the ever-evolving art form of Modern Dance -- thus expanding the minds of New York City audiences.
These productions feature the choreography of emerging dance companies and movement artists. SLD both curates and provides an application process for their bi-annual seasons. Production priority goes to proposals that highlight present-day themes, culture and events through unique choreographic visions -- ranging from highly technical and athletic to works daring in their simplicity.
At a nominal cost, SLD produces dance works with professional stage management & technical/light design; providing a wide array of choreographers and dancers with a platform to promote their artistic endeavors in a formal NYC theater setting. Co - Producer & Technical Director Michael Lounsbery is a professional light designer who has worked with artists and cultural institutions including Dance Theatre of Harlem, Andre Kisselev (Bolshoi Theater), Kazuko Hirabayashi, Earl Mosley, Ara Fitzgerald, Peter Pucci (Pilobolus), Rosalind Newman, Keith Sanders, Neta Pulvermacher, Bill Hastings, Rebecca Sten, Lance Westergard, Claire Porter, Nick Ross, Valerie Pullman, Wallie Wolfgruber, Valerie Pullman and Keely Garfield.
*THE HUDSON GUILD THEATER is a 100-seat, Proscenium Arch Theater; with a stage opening of 27’ 6” wide by 11’10” high and a depth 29’ at centerline. Stage height upstage of proscenium is approximately 17 feet from deck to grid. Floor is painted (black) masonite on top of wood.*
