| WHO WE ARE

INSITU Site-Specific Dance Festival is a free annual summer dance festival that activates public spaces through dance and connects the diverse communities along the western Queens waterfront. Twenty choreographers are commissioned to create unique dance works in response to specific locations within four urban parks. Audiences are invited to travel through each park following timed performance sequences. The inaugural event, presented on July 8 & 9, 2017, attracted over 7,500 people to Hunters Point South Park, Gantry Plaza State Park, Queensbridge Park and Socrates Sculpture Park.

| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Graphic Designer to manage the print and digital graphics for the 2018 festival. Working closely with the Artistic Director and Media Director, the festival graphic designer will refresh the festival’s identity and design all printed and digital assets including posters, banners, flyers, program, sponsorship kit, festival report, and digital ads.

The right candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- Degree in Graphic Design or related field

- Minimum of 2 years professional experience as a designer

- Expert knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator

- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

- Passionate about the arts

- Reliable, committed and organized

- Positive and friendly personality

- Self-motivated, efficient and detail-oriented

| COMPENSATION:

We are offering a project fee based on the applicant's experience and an opportunity to join a small energetic team enthusiastic about the INSITU mission!

| COMMITMENT:

Applicant must be available to commit until September 2018. Designer may work remotely with meetings via phone or in person with festival team. Time commitment varies monthly, depending on design needs and progress of festival.  Flexible hours. A general schedule of deliverables will be agreed upon.
