Synopsis

Love to Love You is a narrative short film based on the true story of a young male NYU dance student in the mid 1990’s. Prior to rehearsal, he was arrested undercover policemen for jumping a subway turnstile. Later while being processed, the student was sexually assaulted by another officer after it was discovered the student was a dancer.

Schedule

A.     Audition Sunday Sept 10 11am-1pm at Jerome Robbins Studio 3rd Fl . NY Live Arts, 219 w.19th St (7th-8th Ave).

Roles Available /Stipend (Schedule)--Description

A.    Kyle – Lead Male Dancer /$300          Sept 20 and 23, Mid October TBA 2 Full Days
i.         Strong Actor, good dancer proficient in ballet, modern, and jazz, and comfortable with partnering.  Plays a homosexual student who is sexually assaulted, causing him to miss the performance of the piece he choreographed. Should be comfortable in sexually suggestive situations
 
B.    Thomas – Featured Male Dancer /$275          Sept 20, 21, 23 Full Days
i.         Proficient ballet, modern, and jazz dancer. Plays student in Modern & Ballet Class (required)+ Featured dialogue w/Kyle (boyfriend) Strong Actor. Performs in Kyle’s choreography.
 
C.    4 Male Dancers/$200              Sept 20 & 21 (Required) & 23rd For Additional $50
i.         Proficient Ballet, Modern and Jazz Dancers. Should have strong partnering skills. Play students and friends of Kyle, the lead male dancer. They are main performers in the piece he choreographs. Should be comfortable in sexually suggestive situations.
 
D.    2 to 3 Female Dancers/$150   Sept 20 & 21 (Required) & 23 For Additional $50
i.         Proficient Ballet, Modern, and Jazz Dancers. Should have strong partnering skills. Play students and friends of Kyle, the lead male dancer. They are the performers in the piece he choreographs. Should be comfortable in sexually suggestive situations.
 
E.     10 Ballet Students/$25            Sept 23 9am-Noon
i.         Dancers (M/F) with strong technique and ample facility to portray NYU dance students
 
F.     1 Ballet Instructor/$50             Sept 23 9am-Noon
i.         Actor (M/F) to portray NYU dance instructor
 
G.    10 Modern Students/$25         Sept 20 Afternoon – Evenings Hours TBA
i.         Dancers with strong technique and ample facility to portray NYU dance students
 
H.    1 Modern Instructor/$50          Sept 20 Afternoon – Evenings Hours TBA
i.         Actor (M/F) to portray NYU Modern Dance instructor
 
** All dancers will be provided with meals during filming days. 
**All dancers will receive footage of the film for their reels.
