NViLP June '17 Jonathan Gonzalez

CPR - Center for Performance Research
361 Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11222

Description:
New Voices in Live Performance is an annual curatorial program that invites a curator/artist/collective to organize a weekend-long program of public events at CPR. We invite applicants to propose a program that addresses a particular inquiry within the expanded field of dance and performance. Proposals should demonstrate a sense of research and serious play around the proposed topic/question/theme and an ability to organize a series of events that will best address their proposed topic. These events must be open to the public and might include performances, lectures, panel discussions, workshops, or other variations on those formats. CPR encourages applicants to utilize the full capacity of CPR’s space and technical capabilities. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to work with CPR staff to develop their proposal in a manner that best serves their questions and makes the most of CPR's space. Applicants must be available during one of the weekends listed below. Once selected, the curator (with the support of CPR staff) will be responsible for overseeing all communication with participating artists, schedules, fees and event details.

Participation:
CPR will provide the following amenities in support of your project:
10 hours of free rehearsal space at CPR (additional hours offered at our NYSCA subsidized rate of $6/hr in the small studio and $10/hr in the large)
4-hour technical rehearsal
CPR’s full technical package run by our resident Technical Director during all events
$1000 budget to be used at the curator’s discretion for participants’ fees, a curatorial fee, additional tech or rehearsal needs, travel costs, materials/supplies, etc.

This application will close on November 10, 2017 at 11:59pm.
