PRINT & DIGITAL GRAPHICS ASSOCIATE

 
BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange

BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange seeks year-round, part-time 10 hour/week Print & Digital Graphics Associate to assist in designing print and web materials.

Founded in 1991, BAX is a community based performing arts center dedicated to developing artists of all ages, from children to professionals. The organization offers community access to arts and culture, supporting the creation of new work by emerging artists, engaging diverse audiences and providing arts education to youth and families. BAX has intentionally constructed an environment where children study and professional artists create under the same roof. Students are mentored by professional directors and choreographers. The organization’s distinct focus on developmental process makes it a nurturing incubator for experimental dance and theater artists and is an important advocate for under-represented voices in the New York City performing arts community.  

 

Duties include (but are not limited to):

-Update weekly signage templates and place throughout the building

-Customize postcard templates for performances and events

-Website and social media graphics support

-Create graphics for digital display

-Design wayfinding and special event signage for the building

 

Requirements:

-An understanding of brand implementation

-Must have experience with Adobe Creative Suite

-Must work on-site at least 2 days, 10 hours per week (Mondays and Fridays preferred)

-Experience with the following software is not required, but a plus: QuarkXpress, iMovie, GarageBand, WordPress.

 

Ideal Candidate

-Will have a thorough understanding of the performing arts

-Will be comfortable moving into an entry level position and/or is an artist transitioning careers with an interest in developing their nascent design skills
