RestorationART presents ChoreoQuest 2018 - A Choreographer-in-Residence program. The ChoreoQuest residency program provides choreographers of African descent in the five boroughs of NYC the opportunity to innovate, incubate and present new works at our contemporary and dynamic rehearsal and presenting spaces at RestorationART, 1368 Fulton Street, Bedford Stuyvesant, NY.

ChoreoQuest - A Choreographer-in-Residence Program was developed in response to the shortage of affordable rehearsal space in New York City for African American small to mid-sized dance companies and choreographers. SInce 1991 the program has supported over 40 choreographers and has maintain the goal to provide African American choreographers the opportunity to create, develop and present new works in alignment with our mission; to engage and tell the stories of communities of African descent across the globe with artistic rigor and excellence.

PROVISIONS

*Minimum of 50 hours of rehearsal space annually.

*Three informal work – in – progress studio showings.

*Two-Fully produced presentation opportunities with a performance fee, promotional, marketing, social media, technical and production support.

*Professional development workshops created for ChoreoQuest by RestorationART that focus on bringing experts in the field of fundraising and Grant writing to convey best practices.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

*Must be of African descent.

*Must be a resident in one of the five boroughs of NYC with a permanent mailling address.

*Must be an independent choreographer or company with non-profit status or a sponsoring non-profit.

*Must have at least 3 years of choreographic presentation experience in NYC.

*Must be an emerging or mid-career artists in the mid-stage of the applied project.

*Must have an annual budget of or below $250,000.
