About KoDaFe in NYC..
KoDaFe in NYC is an international dance festival held by i KADA Contemporary Dance Company. KoDaFe in NYC has grown into a two day dance festival bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds. Together, selected choreographers and i KADA Contemporary Dance Company create intricate choreographies to showcase to the public. As the festival continues to grow, we excitedly are forging a cultural exchange through dance by inviting dance companies, choreographers, and performers to perform in the US and South Korea. i KADA Dance Company aims to build a more peaceful, understanding world through dance and strengthen the international dance community through this cross-cultural exchange. We invite you to be a part of this mission!

The theme of this year’s festival is " The poetic spirit ".  The poet "has the power to 're tune' and reconnect a discordant, divided world." Art and culture are more than forms of entertainment. They are the living expression of the human spirit and the chords that connect not only individuals but cultures, drawing them together in recognition of our common humanity.  "The life and essence of art--whether it be painting, music, or dance--lies in expressing through a wellspring of emotion the universal realm of the human spirit. It is a melding of the individual and the universal. That is why great art reaches out beyond ethnic and national barriers to move people all over the world." -  Daisaku Ikeda

We are accepting applications from all dance genres i.e Contemporary dance, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Contemporary Ballet, Ballet, Modern, and Traditional dance we are looking forward to sharing the stage with a great range of dance performers!

i KADA is also hosting a special Master class on June 25th, 2018! For those interested in teaching a workshop, we are offering a $35 package deal for the Master class on June 25th and for the festival application. The two dance companies who are selected to teach alongside i KADA will also have the $80 festival participation fee waived.
