Dancers / Movers needed for generative and fun process

The video is of one of the rehearsals of the fully produced piece. This would give you some idea about rehearsals.

Hello All,

My name is Varsha K. Shah, CMA and Indian Performance artist. I am developing a curriculum on certain ideas (will discuss personally) using tools of Indain dance and Laban Movement. It's a generative and fun process that I have been wanting to do for sometime.

I am getting free space at the basement of my building for a brief period of time. So wanted to utilize it.

INVITING (non-Indian) dancers / non - dancers to play around Movement exploration around few ideas in a generative process of Indian Classical dance.

In exchange of your time, you will get to learn :
1.) South Asian Indian Classical dance movement
2.) Laban Movement work
3.) Will get to express your ideas and be a part of this process to develop the piece together

4.) Very rich learning experience
5.) Receive video footage for their work
6.) 1.5 hrs per session: 30 mins warm up and 1 hr generative process.
7.) Schedule can be worked out that suits everyone.
8.) Mon - Fri (anytime between 9 am - 7 pm)

Please Note: No pressure on commitment for number of sessions. You can come for as many sessions as you would like. You will still get the video footage.

Email me at varshakshahtheartist@gmail.com if you are interested. Please feel free to ask any questions if you have.

Location: 29th Street, Union City, NJ. 3rd stop after the Lincoln Tunnel. Takes 15 mins from Port Authority (NJ Transit bus). In fact, it's lot closer and quicker to reach to my place as compared to travelling from one end of the city to the other.

Please FORWARD to your friends who might be interested to PLAY around the ideas & LEARN.

Hope to hear from some of you.

Thanks in advance

Varsha K. Shah
