Broadway Dance Lab Summer 2018 Choreography Intensive

The Broadway Dance Lab Choreography Intensive is an exciting new program designed to give young, aspiring Musical Theatre choreographers (ages 18-29), unparalleled access to training from Broadway professionals. Participants will study and create choreography in various styles, attend a Broadway show, engage in artist talkbacks, receive backstage tours and more!

Enrollment is limited, allowing for individualized training and feedback. The Intensive will culminate with a private studio showing of the work created during the week. All classes will take place the heart of downtown Manhattan.

Classes may include:
-Principles of choreographic technique
-Using dance to tell a story
-Interpreting scores/Collaborating with a musical directors
-Master classes in original Broadway choreography
-How to talk to your costume designer
-Lighting for dance

Additional Opportunities:
-Attend a Broadway show with a backstage tour
-Private tour of Jerome Robbins Dance Division archives at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts

Hunter (School of Rock, Disaster), Camille A. Brown (Once On This Island, Jesus Christ Superstar Live), Al Blackstone (SYTYCD), Karla Garcia (Hamilton), Nancy Lemenager (Movin’ Out, Kiss Me Kate), Michael Novak (Paul Taylor American Modern Dance), and artistic director Josh Prince (Beautiful, Shrek).
