Show description:

Seeking performers for a new world premiere show set to open in New York city in Spring 2019. The show will be an immersive digital experience, taking the audience through the living pages of a graphic novel with cirque style physical performance. Each character will be required to act and perform their physical specialty – only exceptional performers should apply.

BREAKDOWN:

1. Bathroom Monster (male)

Contortionist/super flexible BBoy/Breakdancer to play a demon monster character. This character is part of the demon army who hunts the hero. The character should be intimidating and horrifying.

2.  Demon (male)

A Krumper - extremely powerful performer with an imposing presence. Ideally, a performer who has dynamic tricks and can perform effortless flips and street style acrobatics. The Demon is destroying the World of the hero and needs to be stopped, but should be a character that seems unstoppable.

3. Tree Pan (male)

Bar artist who can bring something original to parallel bar act and embody a God-like character. Solid planche essential. Excellent musicality with street bar-tricks. This character requires a performer who should be both impressive but who can also embody irony as there is comedy in this act.

4. Lilith (female)

A Pole artist with some classical/lyrical dance background. This character is integral to storytelling, so the performer needs to invoke empathy. Although a pole act, it will not be erotic, but instead a dance of her loneliness.

Jar room (female)

Contortion hand balancer – A hand balancer who can move and balance on different set pieces. This character is the keeper of memories and so she is a quirky spider-like creature.

6. Assistant to Tree Pan (Male or female)

Person of short stature /Little Person with acrobatic and/or juggling skills preferred. Understanding of physical comedy is also a plus. This character lives in a tree and does everything in their power to make the Tree Pan happy.

7. Bboy Power Mover

Clean continuous head spin, flares and air flares essential.

8. Interstellar Storyteller (male or female)

A Puppeteer who is well versed in using a rod puppet and excellent at creating unusual and interesting characters. Would need to be comfortable in talking directly to audience and potentially improvising in moments if required.
