Summer Internship with Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company

Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, a vibrant New York-based nonprofit performing and teaching company, seeks a highly-motivated intern to assist the Company this summer on a series of production-related events related to the twentieth anniversary of the Company. Working with DGDC one gains an immersive introduction to the myriad tasks involved in running a dance company as well as the terrific camaraderie within the organization. Responsibilities for this position include assisting the Director in office and production-related tasks with an emphasis on marketing and social media. The position’s flexible schedule approximates 20-25 hours per week. The duration of the internship is from mid to late May through the middle of August. An unpaid internship, students may receive college credit and a stipend toward transportation within New York City will be provided. For those living outside of the New York City area it may be possible to work with us remotely.

The Company has a history of summer interns from all over the country.

Past interns have graduated from schools including The University of Michigan, Kenyon College, Skidmore College, Barnard College, Idaho State University and The University of Miami. Terrific friendships have always bloomed between our interns.

Qualifications

Someone who is organized, has a familiarity with and passion for dance, thinks creatively, is able to collaborate, has access to a computer, a proficiency with technology and social media, and is eager to learn and practice new skills!

Responsibilities include aiding in the creation of marketing content, exploring choreographic and teaching opportunities for the Company, and assisting us as we enhance our online and social media presence.
