Flyer for Summer Study 2018

The DASH Ensemble Summer Study

June 4th-9th 2018,

Deadline to apply: May 8th

A week-long immersion program helping dance artists to cultivate intellect, sense, courage, and imagination in their dance and movement styles. The DASH Summer Study is a community for progress, inspiration, and most of all, discovery. The intensive is centered on Dolbashian’s dedication to helping dancers overcome their personal and creative obstacles and strengthen their artistic autonomy. All dancers will also be involved in the development of a brand new work by Gregory Dolbashian, to be performed at a formal showing in the Muriel Schulman Theater at Triskelion Arts on Saturday, June 9th at 2pm.

The intensive will give participants a comprehensive understanding of the tools and processes The DASH Ensemble uses in their work:
    -Contemporary technique and floorwork
    -Improvisation
    -Partnering
Participants will receive a technique class focusing on one of these skills each day, as well as a repertory class and a rehearsal for the new work. Throughout the intensive, Dolbashian will help hone and develop the clarity, intent, and physical complexity that characterize The DASH’s work. Dolbashian will also be leading discussions on “Freelancing as a Life Skill” throughout the week.
