INSITU Site-Specific Dance Festival 2018 Seeks Volunteers!

INSITU 2017 Volunteers Applaud violetsound at Socrates Sculpture Park

INSITU Site-Specific Dance Festival is an exciting free outdoor dance festival in four parks along the Long Island City waterfront on August 4+5. The Festival features new short works by 24 choreographers and was named by the New York Times as one of “15 Summer Dance Festivals, Portland to Vail” to see this summer. Last year over 7,500 people enjoyed the amazing creativity of choreographers from NYC. This year, attendees will experience works by artists from NYC and as far away as L.A., Seattle, Quebec and Senegal.

On-site volunteers are indispensable to the success of INSITU Site-Specific Dance Festival. The Festival comes to life through the support and cooperation of our small organizing team, community and parks partners, advisory board and corps of more than 100 on-site volunteers. Energetic, friendly volunteers are needed to help with a variety of important tasks, including flyer distribution throughout NYC, festival greeters, artist support, audience leaders, park cleanup, production assistants, and more.

INSITU Site-Specific Dance Festival volunteers represent our beautiful community to a talented group of artists and more than 10,000 festival patrons. As a volunteer with the Festival you will be the face of Long Island City to these community members and visitors. Your commitment helps spread the vibrancy of the arts, supports our community and raises the level of cultural awareness in Queens.

Working and volunteering as a group or with friends helps many people have a more positive volunteer experience. We encourage volunteers to invite their friends and family, associations or other groups to volunteer as a team at the Festival.

Visit insitudancefestival.com/volunteer to read about the different volunteer opportunities and sign up!

We would love to know of your commitment by July 22, but will accept volunteers until Wednesday, August 1!

Email Karen Kitchen at karen@insitudancefestival.com if you have any questions.

Thank you for your support!
