Ariel Rivka Dance seeks 1-2 female dancers for paid company positions (rehearsals paid hourly, performance stipend), and 1-2 female apprentices (paid performances when needed) with the possibility of future promotion to full company member. The initial contract will run for one year beginning in August 2018, including festival performances, national touring, possible international touring, and ARD’s annual New York City Performance Season at New York Live Arts.  Rehearsals are Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 12-3.  Dancers must be available for the regular company rehearsal schedule to be considered.  Further details will be released upon workshop/audition registration.

Interested dancers should have very strong modern and ballet technique and should be mature, commanding performers; we want excellent technicians who can really move!  We enjoy a fun and productive working environment, and a positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude is vital.  We are looking for versatile and creative artists who will be committed, long-term company members. All ethnicities are welcome and encouraged.  

Auditions are by appointment only and will take place on Wednesday, August 1st, with callbacks the same day. 

There are two Pre-Audition Technique and Repertory Workshops on Monday July 30th and Tuesday July 31st from 10-12.  On Tuesday there will also be an open company rehearsal immediately following the workshop which participants are welcome to observe.  The workshops will feature an abbreviated class taught by members of ARD, followed by repertory work with Artistic Director Ariel Grossman and the company.  The cost of each workshop is $25 ($45 for both), and both sessions will cover different material for the audition and provide an invaluable extra opportunity for the company to get to know potential dancers. Attendance at one or both workshops is not required but is definitely recommended! Pre-registration is required. Space is limited so register early to guarantee a spot!

Ariel Rivka Dance (ARD) is a critically acclaimed, all-female contemporary dance company founded by married choreographer/composer team Ariel Grossman (Artistic Director/Choreographer) and David Homan (Executive Director/Composer) based in New York/New Jersey.
