Brooklyn Opera Works seeks Dance Apprentices for Summer Productions

 
Brooklyn Opera Works offers Dance Apprentice performing opportunities in Venus and Adonis Denise Gula Weller

Brooklyn Opera Works' is currently looking for 8 Apprentice Dancers for its production of John Blow’s Baroque masterpiece Venus and Adonis.

Details:

•  Soloist in fully produced opera’s featured dance ensemble

•  Company class offered before each rehearsal by Choreographer

•  Performance video and photographs provided to dancers post-production

•  Program includes free Alexander technique classes

•  Audition by video submission only (5 minutes or under, please)

Requirements:

•  Must be an aspiring or professional dancer with strong technique

•  Experience with contemporary dance preferred

•  Gender inclusive

•  Must be available for three weekly rehearsals, which will take place between July 30 - August 18

•  Must be available for tech and performance August 19 – 24

•  BFA or BA in Dance welcomed (may be a current undergrad, special cases for younger dancers considered)

•  Letter of recommendation or references appreciated

•  Performance reel or video link welcomed

•  Submit headshot and resume by July 15th
