Cora Dance: Pay What You Can Professional Dance Classes Images by Chastity Cortijo

Cora Dance in Red Hook, Brooklyn is accepting applications for experienced modern and ballet teachers for young children for our In-Studio Program, September 27, 2018 - June 6, 2019. We are seeking teachers with experience teaching children ages 5-8 for the following classes:

- Modern Level 1 (Ages 5-6) Tuesdays 3-4pm

- Modern Level 2 (Ages 6-8, Tuesdays 4:15-5:15pm

- Ballet Level 1 (Ages 5-6), Mondays 3-4pm

 

Cora Dance is a pay-what-you-can facility. We turn no one away based on ability to pay and offer sliding scale classes for everyone. Cora provides additional services to low-income families to make dance equitable for all families, including after school pick up service from local schools. In addition to class instruction, candidates must be available at 2:00pm on teaching days to assist students with a short walk-over from PS15, 1 block from the school. (Additional compensation provided for walk-over assistance.)

Looking for:

-Experience teaching beginning modern/creative movement and ballet for students ages 5-9

-Experience teaching children from diverse backgrounds

-Strong classroom management skills

-Training in multiple styles of dance a plus

-Availability to commit to the 2018-2019 School Year (September 27-June 6)

-Bilingual a plus (Spanish/English)

Starting pay is $40/hour. Additional compensation for teacher's meetings, walkover assistance and Year-End Student Concert.
