NYC Musical Theater Choreographers

Musical Theater Development Lab (MTDL) at 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center is accepting submissions from strong choreographers creating works in the genres of Musical Theater, Tap or Jazz for Two Weeks Until Broadway at 92nd Street Y.

MTDL is passionate about forging paths, making opportunities, and offering space and support for artists to produce new and innovative work. The work created through MTDL challenges and intersects the vocabularies of both musical theatre and concert dance, bringing together artists in a safe space to explore new techniques in both generating performance, and collaborative processes.

This new choreographer’s showcase will provide each choreographer two weeks of rehearsal space (around 20 hours) to create a new piece to be presented on Saturday August 25 and Sunday August 26 at 92nd Street Y’s Historic Buttenwieser Hall.

There is no fee to participate or apply. To apply please email Mdoyle@92y.org with two short unedited work samples that showcase your previous work and style. As this initiative is to support new works please do not apply to present works that have been previously performed. Submissions Due July 30.
