The Dance Cartel is seeking dancers of diverse styles, backgrounds, and technical approaches for upcoming projects. A broad range of styles welcome - including but not limited to contemporary, street, voguing, wacking, house, Afro-Brazilian. Dancers must be able to learn technical choreography, improvise, and also cut loose on a dance floor. A sense of humor is strongly encouraged. Experience with audience interaction is helpful, but not required where there is interest in learning.

A bit about TDC:

The Cartel creates dances that are vibrant, immersive and often participatory. Without sacrificing technical expertise or a rigorous artistic approach, the company works to employ the social nature of dance, the charge of a party, and the sharpness of a music video to a fresh dance vocabulary that any Joe can get down with.

The Dance Cartel’s acclaimed signature experience ONTHEFLOOR has toured diverse spaces including Ace Hotel NY, PS1/MoMA, the High Line, Brooklyn Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Velocity Dance Center (Seattle), Bootleg Theater (LA), and OBERON (ART).The company has received support from LMCC’s Creative Engagement Awards, NYLA Studio Series,The Orchard Project & a BAX Summer Residency.
