Urbanity Dance Summer Intensive Audition 2019

 

Audition Information: February 17th 12-2pm at Gibney Dance Center (280 Broadway location, Studio E)

About the program 
Urbanity's summer intensive is a rigorous three-week program based in Boston's historic South End. Students receive 6-8 hours of daily instruction in ballet, modern, and contemporary technique as well as supplementary courses in in jazz, partnering, musical theater, improvisation, hip-hop, and repertory. Our Faculty represent the best in the contemporary dance world; learn from Urbanity Company members alongside guest instructors such as Jackie Nowicki and Ellenore Scott. The program culminates in in performance opportunities at the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival alongside professional dancers and choreographers from across the nation. The 2019 program will run from July 22nd - August 10th. For students wishing to stay in Boston during the Summer Intensive, we recommend participating in our Residency Program. 
About the audition

The audition incorporates aspects of ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary techniques.  Intermediate to Advanced dancers ages 11-24 are encouraged to audition. At the audition, options will be given for various ages/levels. Students may be divided into groups at the start of each audition according to age/ability.  All are welcome, and Urbanity is known for creating an encouraging, welcoming atmosphere. So come, even if for an inspiring class! *Pre-registration encouraged
