Casting Actors, Dancers, Aerialists for Piece About Brazil

Aerialist from a past show

Diverse performers are needed for an excerpt from the new play "Jaguar Woman" which will take place on Saturday, October 5.

(A staged reading—possibly featuring fully-performed excerpts—will also take place on Saturday, September 28th.)

Auditions will be held Friday, June 28 from 3pm to 6pm and Wednesday, July 10 from 7pm to 9pm.

More details will be given to applicants who best fit our needs.

About the Show: The second play in a trilogy of socio-political plays, "Jaguar Woman" is a murder mystery and love story based in Indigenous Brazilian and West African spirituality, history, socio-politics, and overall culture in Brazil. In "Jaguar Woman", the fourth wall doesn't exist. The audience "plays" the role of tourists and Enitan, an elderly quilombola, tells them the story of the mysterious Jaguar Woman who left a permanent mark of his community over 30 years prior to the present day. However, the tourists can never be quite sure how truthful their trickster-storyteller is, as the borders of reality fade, and the real-world threat of fascism looms.
