Emerging Guest Artist: The Performance Project @ University Settlement

stubbornMVMT logo

Richard “Rodd” Denson was recently invited to be an Emerging Guest Artist with The Performance Project @ University Settlement. Rodd will be creating his first evening-length work that explores identity, culture-biases, and the queer black experience using spoken-word, multimedia, and movement. The work will run from November 13 - 14, 2019, with a tech rehearsal on November 12, 2019.

Through a series of rehearsals, artists will have the opportunity to learn/create new work through a non-traditional process. This collaborative process asks that artists share and experiment with ideas that may be overwhelming, cathartic, and trigger unwarranted emotions.

Rodd is primarily looking for male dance artists who have strong modern and contemporary technique; background in ethnic and street styles a plus.

This work will be documented and potentially have additional PAID performance dates.
