10X10

10X10 is a FREE event happening on Thursday, August 15, at 81 Broadway, Brooklyn NY Dakota Bouher

10X10 is a new, inclusive, and free dance experience in Brooklyn, NY. Our goal is to bring together artists of all disciplines for an evening of instant, improvisational, planned, or unplanned art. Here’s how it works - you come to 10X10 (with your friends) with an idea, project you’ve been working on, or nothing at all. YOU put your name in the hat for a chance to perform. We draw 10 names from the hat and BOOM - that’s the bill for the evening. 10 artists perform for 10 minutes or less, and the only rule is each work must have a beginning middle and end. Easy right? After the 10 performances we will host a brief talkback to provide each artist with the opportunity to hear from their peers. Artists can pose a question before or after their work, or not at all, to help guide the audience's experience viewing each work. And that’s it! We will offer snacks for sale for $5 (cash or Venmo) to help support the Friendship and thank them for their generosity in hosting this new (and free to all) event. Guests are also welcome to donate to the space, if they are capable, a $5 donation is welcome but not required. This event will be held at 81 Broadway, Brooklyn NY, on the third floor. Enter between Marlow and Sons & Diner. The door will be marked with a calendar of events happening at The Friendship. 7PM. Thursday August 15. See you there! We apologize that this event is occurring on the third floor of a building with only stairs and no elevator. If you are unable to attend because of this reason, please contact us so we can find the right solution or more accessible location to accommodate all guests.
